It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly link up hosted by Kathryn at Book Date . Then, Jen at Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee at Unleashing Readers decided to give it a focus on kid’s literature. This is a chance for bloggers to recap their weeks of reading and share their plans for the next reading adventures they will take. Visit the host blogs for a list of great blogs participating and a whole bunch of titles to add to your to-read lists.
Finished This Week:
I watched The Home Edit’s Netflix show over the last two weeks and was very intrigued and inspired to get my refrigerator and pantry organized. So, I splurged on this book on Kindle. It was a read that I finished in one sitting because there is not much to read. I love the pictures and inspiration.
I ordered the refrigerator bins set from The Container Store and my refrigerator is looking awesome!
My pantry is looking pretty good too, but we didn’t have all the bins to completely finish it so it will still be a work in progress, but it looks much better than it did before!
Books I am Currently Reading:
Blue Labyrinth is the 14th book in the Pendergast series. The mysteries are really heating up! Pendergast is just such an interesting character.
The monthly district coach training was this week and we have a book study discussion so I had to get reading! I read the first 5 chapters this week. We need to read chapters 6 and 7 for the next meeting in the beginning of February.
Honestly, I will probably just keep reading and finish this book and then skim/re-read the relevant chapters before future book study sessions.
What’s Next?
Pizza Girl is still up next. My sister started a book club with the intention of reading through this list of books. So far, the books have all been very interesting and caught my attention in different ways. It has been nice to have a list of books that are relatively quick and easy to get through.
Marie Benedict was one of the authors that I enjoyed hearing the most when I attended the Savannah Book Festival last February. It was so cool to hear about her process in researching and then imagining historical fiction based on powerful women who may not have been recognized as such.
I really loved The Other Einstein and The Only Woman in the Room. So, when I saw that her next book is about Agatha Christie, I had to have it! I am excited to get started with this book soon.
What are you reading this week? I would love to hear from you in the comments!
I love that you’re going to “read ahead” for your PD book. That’s funny – always reminds me of the kids who kept reading, thinking they were going to get into trouble. FOR READING! Ha!
I was totally that kid! Hahaha!
Wow, great kitchen re-do, Andrea! I adore the container store, & can still go though I only check their sales lately. I almost always find something I can’t live without : ) I don’t need more adult book titles, but did note some from the list you shared. I love Marie Benedict, too & have Mrs. Christie on my list. If you haven’t already, don’t miss Clementine, about Winston Churchill’s amazing wife. Thanks, & have a good week!
Yes! Clementine is on my list as well! Have a great week!
Oh no! Do I need to watch The Home Edit? We moved about 5 months ago and I’m still trying to figure out where to put everything. When we moved in, our new kitchen seemed bigger than our old one. But after getting things put away, we realized it’s actually a little bit smaller than our last kitchen. The good news is that the counter space is more easily accessible and better placed. I’m sure I could use some inspiration on organization, though. Heading off to check out your sister’s book list for her book club. Thanks for sharing, Andrea!
I definitely found inspiration from The Home Edit and I also love Marie Kondo and her cute book and even cuter Netflix show too. I may be a bit of an organization nerd. LOL.
We are in the middle of house renovations. Thank you so much for introducing me to The Container Store. It looks like they even ship to Canada!
